Information for High School Basketball Spectators
With the addition of the new bus loop and parking on the north side of the MS/HS building in Manning, spectators attending high school basketball games will now be able to enter the building through the north doors near the band room and boys' locker rooms (door #11). A ticket taker will be present at that door.
Now that the basketball season is underway, we ask all students, parents/guardians, and spectators to do their part to promote sportsmanship and allow all spectators, players, coaches, and officials to have a good experience at the game. Here's a reminder of expectations:
Basketball Student/Adult Spectator Expectations
-
Students in Preschool-Grade 6 are to have a responsible adult present at the game. Preschool-Grade 3 students must be seated with their parents or a responsible adult.
-
Spectators should not sit in the first row of bleachers. Exceptions may be made for fans with limited mobility.
-
The north end, east side of the bleachers is reserved for the pep band. Fourth through eighth-grade students not sitting with parents or a responsible adult are expected to sit in the student section of bleachers (beside the pep band). High school students are encouraged to sit in the student section as well where they can join together in cheering for the team.
-
Students should come to watch the game and support the Wolves, not to run around the building or horse around. The balcony (weight room) area is off-limits to the general public.
-
All spectators are expected to demonstrate good sportsmanship. IKM-Manning Schools observe the Conduct Counts sportsmanship guidelines from Iowa High School Athletic Association and the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union. Therefore, at IKM-Manning School events, home or away, these behaviors are NOT acceptable:
•Disrespectful conduct, including profanity, obscene gestures or comments, offensive remarks of a sexual nature, or other actions that demean individuals or the event. Penalty – EJECTION
•Throwing articles onto the contest area. Penalty – EJECTION
•Entering the contest area in protest or celebration. Penalty – EJECTION
