05/17/2022

There will be a football/summer weights meeting TODAY in the auditorium during seminar.

There are entry forms for the Kinderfest 5K in the HS Office. If you are interested in participating, grab a form. You can turn your form and payment to Coach Cast or mail it to him.  If you are under 18, a parent must also sign your entry form. The roadrace is June 18th in Manning.

PE/Weights days today and tomorrow will be their regular schedule.

Please read an email that was sent out on Friday from Mrs. Hagedorn that explains some of the duties that must be performed on student council and asks if you are interested in running. You can fill out the form but it is NOT a guarantee!

Looking for a Silver Cord opportunity this summer? Zion Lutheran Church is in need of volunteers to help with VBS June 6-10 in the mornings. If interested, please contact Mrs. Kimber Opperman at kopperman@ikm-manning.k12.ia.us.

Be sure to check off-season storage and lost and found for any missing items before the end of the school year next Friday.  Any items leftover will be donated or thrown out.

Freshmen & Sophomores: if you purchased a key for your locker, please make sure to return it to Jenny in the HS office before the last day of school.  You will receive $2 back for returning it.

There are Team Cast/Beat Cancer bracelets in the HS office for $2. We don't let anyone fight alone!

If you are interested in taking the next session of Driver Education classes starting in late May, you need to complete the paperwork that Mr. Wall emailed to eligible students. If you need hard copies of the paperwork, please stop in the HS Office to pick up an enrollment packet. Paperwork and payment are due by Thursday, May 26th.

There are extra poker chips & dice from prom available to anyone that wants them in the HS Office.

If you are interested in running for Carroll County Fair queen, please let Jenny in the HS Office know and she will get you an application or you can contact Michelle Hoffman, Queen Coordinator, directly at mhoffman17@gmail.com for any questions.  The program is open to any student at least 16 years old and is not limited to just 4-H and FFA participants.

If you forgot to turn in your yearbook order, we will still accept them.  Please turn them into Mr. Lahndorf or Jenny in the HS Office.

If you are interested in participating in the Shelby County Nature Camps this summer, stop in the HS Office and pick up a flier that gives more details about the events. Camps are offered to students up to the age of 16 years old.

Just a reminder that HS students need a pass from their teacher or a phone call from the teacher before going to the nurses station.

The newspaper class is working on a website where students can see the weekly articles students are writing for class.  You can begin reading some of their work here:  https://sites.google.com/ikm-manning.k12.ia.us/thewolfden/home?authuser=0

For any Chromebook issues that students may encounter, please use the following link to be shared with Mrs. Langel: http://www.tinyurl.com/ikmmchromebookhelpdesk.

Parking Lot Announcements: please SLOW DOWN and lookout for walkers when driving in the school parking lot. Pedestrians ALWAYS have the right-of-way. Our younger students aren't always very aware of their surroundings when walking through the parking lot before and after school so as older, more mature students the responsibility falls to you to look out for them. The extra parking spots painted in the middle of the lot behind our buses shouldn't be used during the school day as they get in the way of moving our buses. Those spots are for evening events only.  Be careful coming around the corner by the bus barn. Stay in your lane, drive slowly and make sure the way is clear. That's a prime spot for fender-benders. Please wait and yield to buses leaving their parking spots after school.
