The IKM-Manning Community School District will place a $19.8 million bond referendum on the November ballot, aiming to improve student learning environments and enhance athletic facilities for years to come. The decision to move forward with the bond referendum was approved unanimously by the IKM-Manning Board of Education at its regular meeting on July 21. The board's vote reflects a shared commitment to addressing the district’s long-term facility needs and supporting the success of all students.
If approved by voters, the bond package would include a $19.8 million General Obligation (GO) bond, along with $2.95 million in sales tax revenue bonds, to support two major projects:
Elementary Addition/Updates in Manning:
The proposed project includes the construction, furnishing, and equipping of additions to the existing grades 4–12 school building. Planned additions feature a secure main entrance, new classrooms, and updated common areas. The project also encompasses renovations and upgrades to current facilities, including HVAC system improvements.Construction of an All-Weather Track:
The bond would also fund the development of an all-weather track, providing year-round access for physical education classes and extracurricular activities. This upgrade reflects the district’s continued investment in student health, wellness, and athletic opportunities.
Superintendent Dr. Angela Huseman stated, “This bond referendum represents an opportunity for the IKM-Manning District to modernize our facilities, enhance learning opportunities and safety, and continue to build a strong future for our students. We look forward to engaging with our communities in the coming months to provide information and answer questions.”
The election will be held on Tuesday, November 4. The IKM-Manning School District encourages all eligible voters to participate.
Additional information and updates will be provided in the coming weeks. Please stay tuned as details become available. If you have any questions, please contact Dr. Angela Huseman at
