JH FOOTBALL PRACTICE UPDATE — TODAY 🏈
Due to today’s cross country meet taking place on the streets around the school and muddy field conditions, football practice will be moved to Manning City Park near the baseball fields. Players will be dismissed a little early so the team bus can leave before the school parking lot closes for the meet. Please pick players up at the Manning City Park at 6:00. Players should also take their pads home after practice and bring them back tomorrow.
HOME CROSS COUNTRY MEET — LOCATION CHANGE 🏃♀️🏃
Due to the rain and course conditions at M&M Golf Course, today’s home cross country meet will now be held in town on an alternate route in and around the MS/HS building.
Because the course will run through the high school parking lot, traffic will not be allowed in or out of that parking lot during the meet. Spectators are encouraged to park at the Lutheran Church or Hausbarn. Parking at the Lutheran Church will provide several opportunities to see and cheer on the runners along the route. We would love to see the community come out and support our Wolves! See the previous e-mail for the route map.

WINTER GEAR DRIVE ENDS TOMORROW 🧥❄️
Tomorrow, Friday, October 2, is the final day to donate to the winter clothing drive organized by IKM-Manning junior Audrey Muhlbauer through the Sacred Heart Community Closet.
Donation boxes are located at the elementary, middle school, and high school buildings. Families are encouraged to donate clean, gently used coats, snow pants, snow boots, hats, and gloves their children have outgrown.
All donated winter gear will be available free of charge to IKM-Manning students and families during Parent-Teacher Conferences on October 19 and 20 and during the Dance and Color Guard Showcase.
HEARTLAND FLYERS 5K GLOW RUN — SATURDAY ✨🏃♀️🏃
The Heartland Flyers 5K Glow Run is this Saturday, October 3, in Manning!
Didn’t get registered in time for a shirt? You can still participate! Same-day registration will be available at the event. The race starts and ends at the school. Come out to run, walk, glow, and have some fun while supporting the Heartland Flyers AAU Track & XC Team!
JV FOOTBALL UPDATE — MONDAY, OCTOBER 5 🏈
There has been a change to Monday’s JV football game. The Wolves will now travel to Boyer Valley for the game.

The IKM-Manning High School Choir will have the exciting opportunity to perform “God Bless America” at the Iowa Wild Hockey game on Sunday, November 1 at 3:00 PM! Due to the rain and current conditions at M&M Golf Course, the route for today’s home cross country meet has been changed. Runners will now compete on an alternate route in and around the MS/HS building and south Manning. Please see the attached map for the updated course.
Because the route runs through the high school parking lot, traffic will not be allowed in or out of the MS/HS parking lot during the meet. If you are planning to attend — and we hope you’ll help us pack the route and cheer on our Wolves! — please park at either the Lutheran Church or the Hausbarn. Parking at the Lutheran Church will also provide several great opportunities to see and cheer for the runners along the course.
This change also impacts a couple of after-school activities at the MS/HS:
Lil Wolves Cheer Camp will now be held at the Manning Rec Center. Students attending camp from the Manning building will be bused to the Rec Center after school. Students coming from the Irwin building will ride their regular bus to Manning and then transfer to the bus going to the Rec Center.
7th Grade Girls Volleyball Practice is cancelled for today due to the changes around the MS/HS building.
Thank you for your flexibility and understanding as we make adjustments due to the weather. We hope to see a great crowd out supporting our cross country runners today!

Come help us celebrate our senior Wolves! Volleyball Senior Night will be held tomorrow, Tuesday, September 29.
Our other upcoming fall Senior Night will be Football Senior Night on Friday, October 16.

Students in 1st–6th grade are invited to participate in a FREE Fun Run following Thursday’s home cross country meet!

This is just for fun and a great chance for our younger Wolves to get out and experience a cross country race!

LIL WOLVES CHEER CAMP — OCTOBER 1 & 2 📣🐺
The IKM-Manning Cheerleaders are getting ready for Lil Wolves Cheer Camp! Sign up is over but here are the practice dates for those who are registered.
Practice — Thursday, October 1
💚 Preschool–2nd Grade: 3:45–5:00 PM
🖤 3rd–8th Grade: 5:30–7:00 PM
Performance — Friday, October 2
📣 Preschool–2nd Grade: Cheer during the 2nd quarter

Campers must attend practice in order to perform at the game.
WINTER GEAR DRIVE — DONATIONS DUE OCTOBER 2 🧥❄️
IKM-Manning junior Audrey Muhlbauer is organizing a winter clothing drive through the Sacred Heart Community Closet to help provide winter gear for IKM-Manning students and families.
Families are encouraged to donate clean, gently used winter items their children have outgrown, including snow pants, snow boots, coats, hats, and gloves.
Donation boxes are available at the elementary, middle school, and high school buildings, and donations will be accepted through Friday, October 2.
Collected winter gear will be available to IKM-Manning students and families during Parent-Teacher Conferences on October 19 and 20, as well as during the Dance and Color Guard Showcase.
KID CAPTAIN — CHEER & DANCE 📣🐺
Kid Captain opportunities for Cheer and Dance are continuing this week! Get your entries in by September 30 for the drawing on October 1.
Please note that there will be NO Cheer Kid Captain this week due to the Lil Wolves Cheer Camp.

Manning Regional Healthcare Center will be offering an optional flu clinic for students and staff on Tuesday, October 6.

Looking for a way for your child to explore new interests, build skills, and meet new people? Carroll County 4-H is open to students in grades 4–12, with eight different 4-H club options available in Carroll County. 4-H Enrollment Flyer (1)
Students can explore project areas such as science and engineering, technology and robotics, photography, animals, leadership, food and nutrition, clothing and sewing, woodworking, shooting sports, horticulture, and more. Enrollment is $45 for the entire year.

CROSS COUNTRY UPDATE — SEPTEMBER 22 🏃
Tuesday’s cross country meet has been moved to Shenandoah after the Tri-Center meet was cancelled due to wet course conditions. The meet will be held at Shenandoah HS located at 1000 Mustang Dr.
The running schedule is 4:30-JV/V Boys, 5:00-JV/V Girls, 5:45-JH Boys, 5:55-JH Girls
The Homecoming football game will now be played tomorrow at 6:30 PM. Go Wolves!
The JV Football game scheduled for Monday against Panorama has been cancelled due to low numbers on Panoramas team.

The Carroll County Extension Office is offering a six-week Robotics Club beginning September 29 in Carroll.
This is a great opportunity for students to explore robotics, build problem-solving skills, and enjoy hands-on learning.

Tonight's XC Meet Update
LOMA has canceled tonight’s cross country meet. Due to morning rain, the track and several other areas are not drying out enough to safely run the race. The meet will not be made up.
Due to the heat, St. Albert has moved Friday night’s high school football game to a 7:30 PM kickoff.
📍 A reminder that the game will be played at Iowa Western Community College’s football field, located at 2700 College Rd., Council Bluffs.

Due to the forecasted heat, LOMA has made changes to tomorrow’s cross country meet. The junior high races have been canceled, and the high school race times have been moved back.
The girls will race at 6:15 PM, followed by the boys at 6:45 PM.

As we prepare for our first home JV football game tonight, we want to make families and community members aware of a change to admission for this school year.
Beginning this year, admission to JV and junior high athletic events will be $5 for both adults and students.

We will also accept credit/debit cards at the door. Cash will still be accepted, but it is not the preferred method of payment. Passes will be accepted and those can also be purchased on Bound.

Come hungry! C-3 (Christ, Community & Celebration) will be providing a FREE hot dog meal for all families both evenings.
The Sacred Heart Community Closet will also be set up both nights with FREE backpacks and Wolves gear for ALL students, families, and staff, available while supplies last.
Be sure to stop by and visit organizations that support IKM-Manning to learn more about ways you can get involved and help support our students throughout the school year.

Freshman & New High School Student Orientation
Incoming freshmen and students who are new to IKM-Manning High School are invited to orientation on Thursday, August 20 at 1:00 PM in the auditorium. Orientation will last approximately one hour.
Football Gatorade Scrimmage
Come out and get your first look at the Wolves football team! The Gatorade Scrimmage will begin at 6:00 PM on Thursday, August 20. Admission is two 20 oz. sports drinks.

Homecoming Shirt Reminder: If you are purchasing a Homecoming shirt for Class Color Day, please remember that Middle School is grades 4–6 and Junior High is grades 7–8 when selecting your shirt.
Looking Ahead – First Day of School!
The first day of school is Monday, August 24! Please remember that we will have an early dismissal on the first day at 12:40 PM in Irwin and 1:00 PM in Manning.
