Dear Families and Staff, On behalf of the IKM-Manning Community School District, I would like to thank our community members for their thoughtful consideration of the referendum question that appeared on the November 7 ballot. Last night, we learned that the solution presented fell short of the 60% needed to be approved. Unfortunately, we know that our district's facility needs will not go away. The district and board will now turn our attention to finding an alternative solution to our needs—one that our communities can support. This work will begin immediately. Today is election day! There is a bond issue on the ballot for the IKM-Manning Community School District as well as a school board election. A valid ID is required to cast your ballot. Find voting and polling place information here: https://sos.iowa.gov/elections/. Learn more about the bond at www.tinyurl.com/ikmm2023 Remember to bring a valid form of ID when you vote. Precinct election officials are required to ask voters registered in the county to show one of the valid forms of identification: -Iowa Driver’s License (not expired more than 90 days) -Iowa Non-Operator’s ID (not expired more than 90 days) -U.S. Passport (not expired) -U.S. Military ID or Veteran ID (not expired) -Iowa Voter ID PIN card (must be signed) -Tribal ID Card/Document (must be signed, with photo, not expired)

Tomorrow, Tuesday, November 7, IKM-Manning residents will vote on an $18.6 million bond issue. If it is approved by 60% of voters, the district will be able to pursue a series of expansion and facility improvement projects that would allow the district to operate in one location. Polls will be open on election day from 7:00am to 8:00pm at these locations: ➡️Sacred Heart Church, Manning ➡️Irwin Community Center, Irwin ➡️Fireman’s Hall, Manilla ➡️Templeton Center, Templeton ➡️Halbur Community Center, Halbur ➡️St. Joseph Church, Earling ➡️Brasel American Legion, Dow City ➡️Agri-Hall, Audubon

A voter-approved bond issue on November 7 would have a property tax impact of about $2.70 a year per $1,000 of taxable value. IKM-Manning residents do not need to wait until election day to cast their ballot. In-person absentee voting is now available weekdays until Monday, November 6, at your County Auditor’s Office. On the ballot is an $18.6 million bond issue to finance a series of expansion and improvement projects and allow the district to operate in one location.
